Frequently Asked Questions

You may have some questions about the process for immigration evaluations, especially if you’re just getting started.

How do I start the immigration process?

We know immigration proceedings are stressful, and our goal is to make the process easier for you. If one of the above categories pertains to your personal experience and you’re applying for legal status in the US, we encourage you to contact us.

If you have questions about how the legal process for these waivers works, read below and then reach out to us.

How do I prepare myself?

Your attorney can provide the paperwork and documentation you will need to have ready for your appointment with our provider. Otherwise, we encourage you to relax and rest assured that we have your best interests in mind. We are here to make the immigration process easy for you.

What does the report look like?

The report is a comprehensive document that goes over your family history, mental health issues, and other pertinent information to help your immigration case. We will write the entire report—you have enough to worry about.

Do you have bilingual therapists?

Most of our therapists speak both English and Spanish. We also have a provider who speaks Portuguese. If you speak another language, we will have an interpreter available during sessions.

What Is the payment plan for an immigration evaluation?

There are a couple of options for making your payment: you can either pay the bill in its entirety before the first meeting or pay half of the total cost before the first meeting and then pay the remainder when the report is complete.

How do I get started?

There are four steps to start the process:

Step 1: conduct a free consultation online or over the phone.
Step 2: Make a payment.
Step 3: Complete necessary intake documentation.
Step 4: Schedule the first appointment.

Schedule a free consultation with us using the link at the bottom of this page to get started. If you require our services, you and your therapist will meet two to three times for an in-depth clinical interview. Together, you will determine if you suffer from depression, anxiety, or any other mental health issues and if they’re related to the reason you’re seeking legal status.

What happens during the evaluation?

Our providers will offer a safe space to share information about your family, personal history, education, work, and physical and mental health. The entire interview will take about two to three hours. If a more comprehensive assessment is warranted, we can schedule one or two more interviews.

What happens after the evaluation?

After the assessment, we will provide a written report of your difficulties related to your immigration case and the reasons you require a waiver. We will send the report to your attorney within two weeks of your immigration evaluation.

If you wish to continue seeing your therapist to address any mental health concerns after the evaluation, we welcome you to pursue counseling with us. We provide therapy for families, children, teens, and couples.
